Mentioning details regarding the preparations in place for the exam, Shivpal said a special secretary rank officer has been deputed in every district to ensure that the examination is conducted in a free and fair manner. “The government has hired Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to maintain complete transparency in the case,” he said adding that a control has been set up in every district to ensure that the examination is conducted fairly and peacefully.

Around 1.66 lakh candidates were appeared for the examination in Lucknow, and 1.56 lakh  in Varanasi.  Shivpal said every center has got three sets of question papers and in case of any complaint that the question papers has been leaked, necessary action will be initiated.

Meanwhile, inspector general (law & order) Satish Ganesh said an elaborate security blanket had been drafted to ensure that the examination was held in a peaceful atmosphere. “Instructions have been issued to the district police to deploy sufficient force around examination centers and ensure police patrolling at public places till the examinees disperse,” he said. The state headquarters have provided 12 companies of PAC to various districts and this force were available with the government railway police (GRP) to maintainorder during the exam.

Revenue minister Shivpal Yadav on Friday appealed to the people not to fall prey to touts promising selection through the written examination for 13,316 posts of Lekhpal to be held at 2,192 centers across the state. Around 27 lakh candidates were appeared for the examination slated to be held on September 13.
